I'm a "life coach". I realize that's not very original these day.

Life coaching is sooooo common. It's very trendy. Everybody's doing it. So, how can you possibly know whether I am the right person to help you get unstuck or not? Below is a description of a session with me. Read it and see if it resonates with you and your needs.

We Work Together to Find Solutions to Your Problems

Together, you and I are a curious, resourceful team looking for solutions to your problem or to assign a meaning to your experience. You bring your problem/experience, I bring the supportive tools.
We put these things in a symbolic jar (our coaching session), we mix them up together, then open the jar and out pops a changed perspective, emotional release and new options for you. In essence, you’ll gain clarity and agency; a sense of control over your choices, your actions and their consequences.
I enjoy working with people who are working on themselves (on an emotional healing journey but stuck) or who want to make sense of their psychedelic experience (integration work).

We Each Bring Our Own Part

When a client and I come together, we each bring important elements into the session. We come as equals. We each put into this “container” that is our coaching relationship, the parts for which we’re responsible.

Bringing Understanding to the Table

Merging My Tools and Your Dilemma to Find Clarity and Peace of Mind

You, the client, will generally bring with you: the situation, experience, or person you're struggling with, the jumbled or overwhelming emotions you have about it, your belief systems, your perceived constraints or limitations, your thoughts, your confusion, your body sensations, your family and cultural norms, your trauma, your "yes, buts...", etc.
We spread all of these things out as if on a large table, we look at them carefully, we begin to poke around in them and this is when I add my first tools to the pile, my deep curiosity about human beings and my questions. At some point during the discussion, something in particular calls to notice it. Some thought, idea or sensation stands out more than the others and asks for us to pay closer attention. It may not be the most obvious "thing" or the thing you thought to work on but that's when I pull out my other tools and techniques.
What I add to our sacred laboratory beaker is: intuition, my calm presence, more curiosity and more questions, attentive listening, compassion, safety, a playfulness and sense of humour which often lightens the sometimes emotionally charged atmosphere, respect for your internal experience, a pragmatic mind, my ability to see patterns, a love of metaphor and symbolism, my favourite tools - especially numerous versions of EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques/"Tapping"), my hypnosis experience, some NLP (neurolinguistic programming), some spiritual teachings, my hugs (if wanted), my awareness of recent definitions of trauma and my sincere belief that safe relationships, care, curiosity and support can help us find clarity in murky situations and bring us peace that we didn't think was possible.

These Ingredients Blend Perfectly in a Safe Space

The magical process that happens when we mix what you bring with what I have in a safe coaching space jar (i.e. the exploration of events, situations, thoughts, beliefs, experiences without judgment and the application of curiosity, care and helpful, soothing tools and techniques) is such that at the end of the session something quite new has emerged.

Finding Balance Between Spiritual Kindness and Down-to-Earth Practicality

My approach is both spiritual and very down-to-earth. I have never found that spirituality can serve anyone if it is unkind or non-compassionate, if it doesn't take into account peoples' past traumas or if it can't be applied to everyday life. At the same time, if we are too grounded in only what can be measured by man-made machines then I truly believe we are limiting our potential. I generally aim for a nice middle-ground, keeping both firmly in my sight as we examine what we have before and between us.
The people I enjoy working with tend to be middle-aged women who are on a mental/emotional healing journey and are at a stuck place, a plateau. There’s something they’ve been working on for a long time but they haven’t made much headway. There are some pieces of the puzzle that they can’t seem to find.

Or, in the psychedelic experience domain, anyone who has had an experience and who would like help understanding or integrating into their everyday lives the insights that they got.

My interventions with my clients are not generally very long, they tend to be limited to a few sessions to help untangle the knot and let things flow or to integrate the psychedelic experience and then it's done. My session tend to be like a turning point, you don't stay there, you pivot there and move on.

People tend to find me when they are ready:

to see things from a fresh point of view;
to break out of a stuck place and move forward;
for their emotions and experiences to be validated;
to be met as an equal partner in exploring their issues with mutual respect, authenticity, humility and vulnerability
That is, essentially, what happens in a session with me. Whether you're intrigued and want more info or you feel ready to jump in with both feet, reach out. I'm happy to answer questions or to book your first appointment.

Big hugs,
Kelly. xo
